Moisture Separator Reheater Tubes

Schmöle has been supplying MSR TRUFIN® finned tubes for customer-specific heat exchanger solutions since 1973, including for the construction of heat exchanger components in nuclear power technology. Due to decades of experience, Schmöle has acquired comprehensive know-how in the manufacture of these special MSR pipes. This know-how was constantly used to optimize the manufacturing process. Schmöle supplies these finned tubes worldwide and is internationally qualified.

Benefits

  • Improved heat transfer
Due to special surface structure (high-performance evaporator tubes with structured surface).
  • Simple structure
thus less expensive than shell-and-tube evaporators
  • Improved flow around
of the evaporator tubes by star-shaped spacers

Description

Schmöle MSR TRUFIN® finned tubes are used for moisture separator reheaters in nuclear power plants, typically in ferritic alloy TP439/1.4510. Trufin® finned tubes are manufactured from seamless or welded tubes by a rolling process. In this process, the inner diameter of the starting tubes is narrowed and, at the same time, spiral fins are rolled out of the tube wall. As a result, the outer diameter of the fins is smaller than or at most equal to the permissible outer diameter of the unfinished tube parts. This means that they can be inserted into tube sheets without any problems. The finning process can be interrupted at any point of the tube, for non-finished tube sections. Our tubes can be used in newly built power plants, as well as replacement/refit tubes for existing power plants.
